My'ONE'Sunday Exploring Jerusalem

>> Wednesday, September 09, 2009

Sunday, Sept 06,2009..I joined the "Jesus is Lord" groups (Natanya) for their tour in some biblical sites in Jerusalem. So..it is means that we went to most of the archaeological dug ups and under the grounds sight seeing ruins during the second temple of religious wars.

Our first stop by was in Mt. Olives that most tourist came for early morning sight seeing on the other side of the hills that we saw the city of David ruins and the tip of the golden dome.
I'm trying to ignored this beggar when I step down to our service bus but he hold my bag asking for alms.He still strong enough to work I thought, so I did not gave any cents. This is in Mt. Olives scene in front of the hotel.

Way down to the service bus, front view of the hotel.Olives trees are everywhere
On our way or before the service bus travel we are always praying, the driver was always the regular (suki na) contact with this groups and if he heard praying he respect also by turning off his car stereo music.....Why this two women not closing their eyes? hmmm...woman in pink was Sis Digna - maybe she was calculating our expenses silently on her mind and the other one is Dorothy...ahhh..I knew it, she is planning all the pauses she need to be on her photographs, picture maniac yan eh...hahaha like me.
On the Mt.Olives Tent/church of JIL groups with pastora Tess in yellow and another pastor minister I think in checkered blouse
Another menorah statue behind us in front of Knesset/parliament building in Jerusalem.
Behind me is the parliament building or Knesset, so ..I standing in between the biggest menorah and the Knesset building
We are now in synagogue, silence is strictly observed, look at the door frame I'm still lucky I can got inside but if I'm gain another 5 kilos I cannot get inside I'm sure.
This is what we found inside.....wait... I will ask first what is that thing covered behind me!? ..di kc ako nakikinig sa lecturer eh...hahaha...imagine ko lang puntod ni KING DA
VID CGURO E2...EXCLUSIVELY FOR WOMAN'S ANG ROOM NA E2
ENTRANCE/EXIT GATE ...so we finished exploring the museum.
Those are the miniatures of ruins of the Jerusalem during the second temple. It is sorrounded by concrete walls.Nice works and design talaga, kung baga sa plants bonsai pero mga infrastructure yan during the stone age. King David palace and the east west gates . etc.Steel railings are just high as above the waistline . In every corner or there are a lot of signages " do not climb " sa lupa naka lagay ang iba, ala naman akyatan ...nagtataka lng ako.
Jumping for joy in Israel Museum vicinity -mga nakawala sa amo hahaha
Ooppsss...seems there is serious forum here, sorry I didn't heard what it was.nag dugtong na kilay ni kumpare eh,..pero teka...kumare pala ...hehehe
here is the BREAD DEAL..how much is the one piece?hanep sa english eh.. 5-10 nis, what!? without gold?..how about with that pounded herbs and how does it taste? a lil sour and smell mints, there is a pepper taste also. ngeee...I remembered the "apog & buyo " then "nganga " for mangyan ..hahhaha
okey ...I want only one without that ground herbs because the streets on the way we are tracking was so clean they immediately will see if I 'll blow...So plain bread breakfast . I woke up 4am and I slept 2 am that night and now is already 10 am...
We just came out from the last suffer room at the rear building, why so happy ? because we saw the only one street bread vendor...all hungry...
Look...c Dorothy ung naka talikod...right side with checkered blouse was the guide lecturer at saan ako...hehehehe..di talaga nakikinig pakaway kaway pa hahahaha
Before we entered the city of David site/sanctuary I heard??? hehehe...we are all excited but when we came out there a lot of traffic police , they suspected the bag left in nearby trash bins has a bomb. So...we ran to our service bus and left the area immediately. alah! bilis namin ..hehehe

SURVIVOR: ISRAEL VERSION

>> Friday, September 04, 2009

ISRAEL version of survivor tv reality show "hisardut" as they name it here was the Philippines as their chosen location. Contrary to all those websites saying that it's airing will be in the month of October but it was already on the third night(tonight) for their third episode at channel ten(10) here in local tv stations . We are now in the month of September and not October as they stated in their previous reports.

First aired was last Saturday, it's already one week today and Sunday is our day off here. I don't know if some fellow caregivers encountered like mine .Early morning I went to the "Dohar"(post office) then on my way to the flat where I'm staying and even here in my area they used to asked me about my own native land . I passed thru the "hakenyon"(mall) in Natanya city, entrance guard asked me from where I am, they always mistakenly asking that I was from Thailand and sometimes from Nepal, they spoiled my day, lol. I'm always proudly answering from Philippines! then he told me what he had seen that last night , it was first airing of survivor Israel version. There are some locals approaches me inside the mall until I've gone through the place. I'm happy walking down toward the city center that despite of all negative shows for some caregivers ,they are now recognizing how was we are before we came here to work as caregivers.

They added that how nice my country Philippines was thru that airing of survivor. Some amazed because most citizen here are afraid or don't know how we are grateful to have the best and nicest islands that they will enjoy in visiting Philippines."Tiyul" is the word they said as they explored most cities world wide as a part of their life as an Israeli citizen. Before they render their duty as young soldier and after their duty as a soldier of the state of Israel they must go to places where they wanted to visit. And as of this time they're doing their complete research how the Philippines is. I'm glad and assured them for their complete satisfaction in visiting my country. One thing to say is most areas and islands has already one caregiver used to work here caring their elderly people. And lastly our second major language is an English dialects that even small children can speak and understand English word.

Day off in "UKiey"

>> Monday, March 23, 2009

Yesterday's day off was a great fun I felt I was in my home country then I went to the city of Manila.A place like in Qiuapo,in Divisoria and some other towns around the Philippines . Few years back in Tel Aviv my flatmates always showed thier items that they bought in SURFLUSLANDIA as they named it. I've never been there and I always want to go but I dont have time , I got my day off just twice a year.So yesterday I joined my friends here in Natanya city to go in that place which is near the public market. Here are some pictures I took from there, just few because when one elderly with sewing machine that sewed some curtains saw me she shouted "journalist, journalist" so I stop taking pictures and then came to her spot telling her that I am a caregiver not a reporter.
Oopppssss....sorry .. I almost forgot! hehehe..UKiey , they just named it - means a place where we could buy second hand or old items (okay-okay jud ahh)...everything you can see there are dresses or clothing items, kitchen wares. I saw yesterday sewing machine that look like of my mother  that she used to sewed our uniforms during my high school days.I saw also an electric hand drill but still high in price that's why I did got it.After half an hour I went back and it was already sold out maybe because I make "tawad" for almost 1/4 of the thier price.hahaha pinay eh.
You saw my friend...she bought me a maong short pants(unused pa) worth 5 nis (45pesos) while their given price was 10nis - more or less 100 pesos in the Philippines, nice to wear for summer time..Imagine 5nis here is like "ala lng" you can ask anybody if you like. And just to think 10nis - tatawaran mo pa! I heard one caregiver that they always went there to buy, they clean and fixed it before they send to thier families
as one way of helping some relatives for bargain business. They knew the good quality of cloth because she  was a dressmaker before she came here to work as caregiver.

Good thing was not very noisy like any other public market.

Megiddo is a tel (hill or mound) made of 26 layers of the ruins of ancient cities in a strategic location at the head of a pass through the Carmel Ridge, which overlooks the Valley of Jezreel from the west. The name Armageddon mentioned in the New Testament derives from Megiddo. It has been the site of numerous battles throughout history with different rulers.(read more stories in wikipedia)on top hill was written MEGIDDO , did you see that?

Everybody wants souvenir , I volunteer to be the photographer of the day. Looked what they did - they gave all their cameras but how about me?All are digital or latest model of different signatures but the most popular was the disi-lip model, it took few minutes to shoot.

>> Tuesday, December 16, 2008

News time that my employer watched everyday started at 5 p.m. that horrified both of us when the 25 fatal bodies in white bags flashes on screen.Tourist bus carrying Russian citizens that just arrived from St. PETERSBURG airport and was en route to EILAT when the accident happened.Bus plunged in almost 100 meters down from the road. From illustration on tv, driver was supposed to overtakes the bus ahead of them that he did not noticed the curve.Driver tried to control but its too late to regain in its course then they fall into barrier.Driver was still alive but denied of over speeding and overtaking when interviewed by channel 2.It said that this is the worst road accident ever in ISRAEL.While watching the whole story, me and my employer is exchanging inhale and exhale or in a deep breath every minute. She's not afraid, she told me of how the family's feelings of losing instantly like this.

After the news I went to my room and PRAY FOR ALL WHO DIED ON THE SPOT TO REST IN PEACE.For all injured passengers hope they will all fine and cure their wounds in a short period of time.

We are always having trips and tour especially this holiday seasons. In the past few trips and tours we're all happy and safe back to work to our employers. When our driver started the engine we also starting to pray for safety of our trip. The first prayer we cited was to guide us especially the driver along the way to where we will go.Praised God!Amen!amen!he always granted us and always be...

SOREQ CAVE:my first tour

>> Wednesday, November 19, 2008

I was so excited when one member of JIL informed me about the tour which includes the SOREQ CAVE.Past 12 o'clock (noon) when we arrived the place.First we have our lunch served,we're all hungry because as early of 5:00 a.m. when we leave Natanya. In the middle of our lunch one worker approached our driver to let us move fast as we saw a lot of school children's walking up hills in direction of where we are.The parking was on the top hill and cave was in the downstream. Its a very tiring ups and downs walked that makes my heartbeat double than usual .Then later inside the cave the guide told us,maybe where about 5-8 meters distance to the exit gate that we are standing of where our service car was parking. Its an amazing tour inside the cave.It just in my thoughts that cave can only accommodate up to 30-40 persons only, more than that is too crowded which is not good both the tourist and the nature inside. The air temperature inside the cave is constant year-round at 22 degrees Centigrade. The humidity ranges from 92%-100%.We felt little hard breath while inside that we allowed to stay for just 40 minutes only. Area of the cave was 180 dunams(is a unit of area used in the OTTOMAN EMPIRE,it also defined as "forty standard paces in lenght and breadth" or it is a unit they used to measure the area).Cave entrance was measured at 385 meters above sea level. The area of the cave was 91m in lenght,80m wide,15m in height, total area is 4800square meters and has a volume of 25,000 cubic meters. The cave was declared as a nature reserved only in March 16,1975.Before entering the cave ,we saw video clips of things that is prohibited inside the cave like NO TOUCHING the stone because it will stops growing and it becomes black color stone, need to be quite,no picture taking,a very sensitive place that everybody should respect and the most important was they explain how it forms and a short lecture about the discovery until they found out that need to be preserved. Our last few minutes inside the cave,we are begging to the guide to let us have pictures where we standing and no roaming around then he said yes when we almost at the exit gate ;here i have few but better than nothing...
a close up smile from TEENI,she's standing behind me. just face to the left , face to the right, face forward and turn back position then klik to take pictures.

i ran upstairs to take the ceiling of the cave,we cannot stretch our hands up side and sidewards because it might touch the growing stone or its a matter of less than 1/2 meter distance from us

STALACTITES and STALAGMITES meets and build a walls naturally.this formation is a kind of process that when a drop of water reaches the cave ,it releases carbon dioxide which is saturated then limestone's crystallizes on its own. There is also other sedimentary forms that you can see in the cave.
